What is MagLevate?
MagLevate is a magnetic steelbook holder that sits on your wall and holds your steelbook in place, so it looks like it's floating. There's no shelf, no bracket poking out and no frame in the way, just the artwork front and centre exactly as the designers intended.
It works using magnets that are fully enclosed within the mount itself, and that's a detail we're quite particular about. Covering the magnets with a sticker or a thin metal plate, which can peel, slip or wear over time wasn't something we wanted to provide. It's cheap and tacky, and creates a. product that is incomplete. Our magnets are built properly into the body of the mount during production, so there's nothing exposed and nothing stuck on top to ever come loose, which keeps your steelbooks safe and the whole thing gentle on the steel. The mount fixes to your wall with a Command strip, included with every order, so there's no drilling, no filler and no awkward conversation with your landlord. If you rent, or just don't fancy putting holes in a freshly painted wall, it's about as damage-free as a steelbook wall mount gets.
Every MagLevate also comes with a mini spirit level, so you can get your display dead straight first time. Fancy changing your display around later? You can add extra Command strips to your order, and swapping a steelbook in or out takes seconds. If you'd like a bit of extra protection from dust or the odd splash, a clear plastic slipcase is available separately too.
What is MagLevate Art?
Once MagLevate took off, the most common question we got from customers was some version of "can I show the whole thing?" Plenty of steelbooks have artwork that wraps right around the case, and some of the best designs only really make sense when you see the front, spine and back together as one piece.
So we made MagLevate Art, and as far as we know, nobody else in the world offers anything like it (so notarially, we protected our design so it can't be copied). It's a magnetic wall display that holds your steelbook fully open, so the complete artwork is on show across your wall like a print. Like the original, it uses fully enclosed magnets to hold the case gently and securely, mounts with an included Command strip and comes with a mini spirit level.
MagLevate Art comes in three versions, depending on what you collect. There's one for standard Steelbook™ editions with a spine, one for non-Steelbook™ metal cases without a spine, and one specifically for Switch Steelbook™ editions. Whichever you go for, the result is the same: your open steelbook displayed as the piece of art it really is.
