Hades II - A Return to the Underworld I’ve Been Waiting For

After what feels like an eternity of anticipation, Hades II has finally made its way onto PS5 and Xbox Series consoles yesterday (14th April 2026), bringing Supergiant Games’ signature blend of fast-paced roguelike action, rich storytelling, and stunning art direction to a new generation of players.

I absolutely adored the first Hades. In fact, I sank a solid 43 hours into it, which says a lot considering how busy I usually am. It was one of those rare games that kept pulling me back in run after run, thanks to its tight combat, evolving narrative, and brilliantly written characters. Few titles manage to balance gameplay and story so seamlessly, and Hades nailed it.

Now, with Hades II, I’m genuinely excited to dive back into the underworld and experience it all over again, this time through the eyes of Melinoë. Stepping into a new protagonist’s role while retaining that familiar gameplay loop feels like the perfect way to expand on what made the original so special.

Supergiant Games has built a reputation for crafting deeply immersive indie games, and early impressions suggest Hades II continues that tradition. 

For fans of the original and newcomers alike, Hades II on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles already appears to be a must-play. Whether you’re here for the addictive combat, the evolving story, or simply to lose yourself in a beautifully realised underworld, this is one return trip you won’t want to miss.
