Xbox Games Showcase 2026: Everything You Need to Know (And Why Collectors Are Already Losing Sleep)

Xbox Games Showcase 2026: Everything You Need to Know (And Why Collectors Are Already Losing Sleep)

Sunday's Xbox Games Showcase was the kind of event that reminds you why you got into gaming in the first place — big franchises, bold announcements, and three collector's editions that are already selling out. If you missed it, here's everything that dropped, with a special focus on the releases that matter most for collectors.

Gears of War: E-Day — 6th October 2026

Xbox opened the show with the one everyone came for. Gears of War: E-Day is a prequel set fourteen years before the original 2006 title, dropping players back into the chaos of Emergence Day itself alongside Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago as the Locust Horde tears through the world above. The gameplay trailer showed familiar third-person cover shooting with noticeably improved movement — sliding, climbing, more fluid animations throughout. It's Gears, but evolved.

Confirmed as an Xbox console exclusive and day-one on PC and Game Pass, E-Day launches on 6th October 2026.

The Collector's Edition at £299.99 is the crown jewel of the three announced on the day. It includes a 15-inch collector's diorama of Marcus and Dom, 1:1 scale replica COG dog tags made from zinc alloy and brass, five days early access, the Bravo Squad Signature Weapon Pack, Iron currency, five Seasonal Customisation Packs, and a physical game disc for Xbox Series X alongside a Steam digital code.

Oh, and a Steelbook. A beautiful, bespoke Gears Steelbook that deserves far better than the inside of a drawer.

When that Steelbook lands through your letterbox, it belongs on your wall. Our Steelbook display frames here are built specifically to show off cases like this — no tools, no faff, just your favourite piece of gaming history where everyone can see it.

Halo: Campaign Evolved — 28th July 2026

Return to where it all began. Halo: Campaign Evolved is a faithful, expanded remake of the 2001 original — the game that essentially built the modern first-person shooter — rebuilt from the ground up and landing on 28th July 2026 for Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5, and PC.

The new trailer confirmed three brand-new story missions set one year before the events of the original, giving the remake genuine reasons to replay beyond nostalgia alone. Early access kicks in on 23rd July for those who pre-order.

The Collector's Edition at £199.99 includes a 12-inch Dark Horse Master Chief statue, a light-up LED Cortana chip, three original concept art prints, a reimagined physical game manual, a game disc for Xbox Series X and PS5, and the Foundry Armory Pack with cosmetics inspired by the 2001 original.

And there it is again: a Steelbook. Master Chief on a Steelbook, looking exactly as iconic as he should.

These things are made to be displayed. If you're picking up the Halo: Campaign Evolved Collector's Edition, pair it with one of our Steelbook frames here and give the Chief the wall space he's earned.

Fable — 23rd February 2027

Playground Games' long-awaited Fable reboot finally has a firm date: 23rd February 2027. The new trailer leaned into the dark side of Albion, with Hayley Atwell joining the cast and a villain front-and-centre who reckons he's the hero of the story. Classic Fable energy.

The Collector's Edition at £199.99 includes a limited edition Jack of Blades figurine, a hardcover artbook, a Guild Seal pin, and the Premium Edition digital bundle — early access, the exclusive Bastard and Splendid cosmetic armour outfits, a Chicken Suit, a Wild Flower Bouquet, a Toy Chicken, a Scones and Jam Picnic Hamper (yes, really), and post-launch access to the Fable: Order of the Hero expansion.

And of course, a personalised Fable Steelbook. Something this beautifully British deserves a frame to match.

Everything Else From the Showcase

Minecraft Dungeons 2 arrives on 29th September, bringing dungeon-crawling action back to the world's best-selling franchise. Castlevania: Belmont's Curse marks the return of classic 2D Castlevania side-scrolling action from the studio behind the Dead Cells Castlevania expansion, landing on 15th October 2026. Valor Mortis, a first-person Napoleonic soulslike from the Ghostrunner developers at One More Level, releases on 24th September.

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy takes the franchise to new territory with a young protagonist named Sophia uncovering secrets from her past, arriving 27th August. Hellblade: Senua's Return sees Senua battling her way back from purgatory in the next chapter of the acclaimed Hellblade universe. Crazy Taxi is officially back, sending Axel on a globe-trotting sequel chasing masked villains. Clockwork Revolution was confirmed as a permanent Xbox console exclusive alongside E-Day.

On the hardware front, Xbox celebrated its 25th anniversary with the Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition — a translucent OG Green console and matching controller paying tribute to the original Xbox design, complete with a nod to the classic Duke controller's black and white buttons. Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition dropped with new content, and Persona 4: Revival was confirmed for 18th February 2027.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, Doom: The Dark Ages' new July story expansion, Fallout 76 free content updates, and Metro 2039 rounded out a showcase packed well beyond its runtime.
