What's the difference between Tru Vue Optium Museum acrylic and Plexiglas Gallery Standard?
I've done a ton of research on the acrylic glass for my frames. I've called up suppliers to make sure all the standards are met. So when you get a Frame-A-Game framed game, rest easy knowing that your game is protected from enemy number 1 - light!
Not all glazing in the framing industry is created equal. There are a wide range of options available for all sorts of applications, however I only offer the best and most suitable with my products.
The above image shows the range topping TruVue Optium Museum acrylic against Plexiglas Gallery Standard acrylic. Both offer 99% UV protection, but only one is crystal clear and offers true anti-reflection properties.
That’s because the far inferior Plexiglas uses a coating on one side that scatters the light unevenly as it hits it, helping create less reflections but with it causes hazing to the contents beneath. There’s less hazing the closer the Plexiglas is to the artwork, but as you can see, it’s not at all suitable for framed games of any kind.
