Keeping your games safe

Learn more about how Frame-A-Game keeps your games safe whilst on display.

One thing that is paramount to the physical game market, is the preservation of games. I recognise this and wanted to produce a product that allowed gamers to not only showcase their favourite game, but give them the ability to remove the game if they wanted to play it or take it out.

With this in mind, I set out to ensure how I produce my frames allowed for preservation of the game. I outline the process below, however if you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact me here.

It's all in the details

Learn more about the Frame-A-Game process

How is the game case secured?

The game is safely held in place by the mounted slipcase. This plastic container holds the game case safely in position, so the game is never adhered to anything.

Inserting the game case

As the slipcase is secured to the mountboard, all you have to do is slide your game case in and close up the tabs. Your game case is 100% removable whenever you wish to take it out.

How is the disc secured?

Similar to the game case, the disc never makes contact with anything that can damage it. Instead, a spindle is stuck in position on the mountboard which allows you to safely clip on (or off) the game disc.

The disc always has clearance

When the game disc is attached to the spindle, there will always be clearance from the mountboard below, and the game case (if you have The Combined Range style).

Putting it all together

Once the game case and disc are in position, all that is left to do is put the mountboard back face down in to the frame and finally replacing the wood backboard behind it before pushing down the metal frame teeth.

Hang your new art piece

All frames come with a sawtooth fixing which easily allows you to hang your new framed game to your wall. You can also use Command strips as an alternative method.

FAQs

How do you keep my games safe?

Game cases are held securely in a high-quality PET plastic protector (referred to as a slipcase throughout the site). The game simply sits within the protector and the protector itself is stuck to the frames back mountboard. This means your game never comes into any contact with any glue or harmful materials.

Discs are secured via a spindle (think PS1 disc drive attachment mechanism), so you can easily clip on and off the disc whenever you need.

Are the slipcases high-quality?

All slipcases used in my products use the best materials available.

  • Super strong 0.4/0.5mm PET material
  • Crystal clear transparency
  • Archival grade and acid free

You can rest assured your games will be safe in a Frame-A-Game frame.

What are your glass options?

Frame-A-Game frames use Plexiglas UV 100 acrylic glass as it's much safer for your games compared to glass, with the added bonus of being 99% UV protective!

There is an upgrade option popular range-topping Tru Vue Optium Museum acrylic which provides anti-reflection properties, anti-static, lightweight (compared to glass) and boasts 99% UV protection. You can read more about your options here.
